1: Burnout, Overcoming Obstacles and How The Ripple Effect Impacts Your Business

Let’s talk about the 3 pillars I believe lead to a sustainable, profitable, and scalable business. All in your way, with your rules, and without the burnout. Why? Because I had a burnout when I was building my own business and it’s not an experience, I would wish to repeat on anyone else.

  1.        The WHY versus the HOW

For you to be a successful, independent entrepreneur who doesn’t have to rely on mentors, you need to truly, deeply understand the WHY of making strategic decisions rather than the HOW.

It doesn’t really matter for you how many emails I sent out in my last launch, because I have a different audience and I have a different style. Copy pasting that same tactic may not work for you. But if you understood why I made those decisions, why I chose to price things a certain way, why I chose to launch things a certain way, you can apply that same methodology and way of thinking to your own business.

  1.        Overcoming

This is a mindset thing. It is also one of the big reasons I decided to create my podcast Business Magic. I want to share with you stories of overcoming obstacles and challenges. Having this kind of information and hearing different stories should help make you feel less alone. It should make you feel like you’re in this together with other people. People who would totally get where you’re coming from and what you’re going through. It should give you inspiration that you can get through this. That whatever you’re going through, it’s okay. You can get through this because other people have as well.

  1.        The ripple

When I started out, I believed that results in success were linear. As I got more experienced, and was longer in business, I realized there’s also another kind of impact. Another kind of effect and results. The only way I can describe it is the ripple effect.

For example, with my first live event, a $50 workshop held in my living room, I ended up losing money because I spent way too much on food. I thought I would get a client from it, but I didn’t. I thought this was a failure! It was cool, I had an event and it was fun, but I failed because I didn’t achieve my goal of getting a new client. However, the ripple effect happened thanks to that one event. I was invited to speak at a conference and share my story “From Burnt Out to Booked Out“. A couple of months later, I started getting inquiries and clients because of people who saw that event. They remembered me from it, or they told their friends about it. That one event rippled into three international live events across Europe in the following months, and into an invite-only retreat called The Powerhouse Mastermind Retreat. I organize this invite-only retreat for some of the top female entrepreneurs in the world, once a year in Tuscany, Italy. Now, for the first time, I will host a retreat in Florida, USA. All these events snowballed from that $50 workshop I held in my living room, where I lost money and which I considered a failure.

Burnout, Overcoming Obstacles and How The Ripple Effect Impacts Your Business

“I truly believe in freedom. That is my goal for myself. That is my goal for my clients. That is my goal for you. To have freedom of time and be able to decide what and when I want to do.“

– Maggie Giele

The ripple effect has also to do with relationships. Relationships have built my business. Friendships, amazing people I’ve met, the joy of a late-night talk about strategy with someone who completely gets you. You think to yourself, “Oh my goodness, I’m not alone. There’s other crazy people out there who are as obsessed with, and as passionate about their business as I am.” The ripple effect from people you meet that way is one of the biggest successes.

So, what do you want? Why are you doing this? Being really clear on that will help you decide how you want to stand out. What kind of offers do you want to create? How do you want to treat your clients? How do you price your services? Should you do retreats, or should you focus on courses? All these decisions lead back to your North Star. That’s something I really want to help you with in my solo episodes – to share actionable steps. To share stories from my own business, from my clients that can inspire you and give you confidence. Give you something to try out.

Most importantly, I truly believe in freedom. That is my goal for myself. That is my goal for my clients. That is my goal for you. To have freedom of time and be able to decide what and when I want to do. Freedom of money and not have to worry about things I want to buy and be able to use my money to create more impact. I do believe the more money you have, the more you can help. Lastly, the freedom of choice. Being able to decide, “I want to do this because I can.”

Love + magic,

Maggie
