2: Mindset, Method and Move = Business Magic
Today I’m going to walk you through the three M’s necessary for business magic, how they link together, and what happens if they’re not in balance.
1. Mind
Mind is mindset, your confidence, your energy, your thinking. If you don’t feel positive and excited about the program or service that you’re trying to sell, do you think you’re going to sound excited and positive in a Facebook live video trying to sell that program? I doubt it.
2. Method
Method is the strategy, the tactics. What do you actually do? The method was what I was all about when I realized that I can’t be all about method and strategy because there are other things at play.
3. Move
Mindset and methods are all great, but you can’t get much done if you don’t take action, if you don’t move. So, you need your mindset, you need the method and you need to actually move to start creating business success.

“I really believe there’s a fine balance of what mindset is, and how much you focus on it. What I don’t believe in is only doing mindset. Let’s be real here. If the only thing you do all day is say affirmations to yourself in front of the mirror, sure, you might feel good, but is that going to get you clients and sales? No.“
– Maggie Giele
If we have a mindset and method, we have a plan. We have tactics, we have strategy, we have the method with which we’re moving forward, and our mind does great. What do these two together look like? It looks like dreaming without doing. What about method and moving together? Without the mindset, it looks like falling short, feeling like crap, getting distracted and frustrated, and a lot of comparison. Not to mention feeling like a failure and shiny object syndrome. You can have the best strategy in the world, but without a good mindset, you’re not going to take action the way you need to. What about mindset and moving but without the method? It looks like you’re busy and burnt out.
But how about mindset, method, and moving? Business magic.
So, what is even a mindset like? “Great, this all sounds good, and makes sense. Now, what?” One of the biggest things for me with a mindset is surrounding myself with people who get me. That means joining masterminds, group programs, going to events and retreats where I can meet like-minded people. One tip I learned from my friend Lizzie Buckwheat Goddard is that she likes being the least smart person in the room. I love that concept when you’re trying to join a table or a room where everyone is a little bit ahead of you, because that is the way you can push yourself, challenge yourself, and learn the most.
Journaling is something else I do. I don’t do it consistently but when I get to do it, it works really well. Keep your mind free from anxiety as much as possible and free from those intrusive thoughts that go, “This is not working.” Journaling or talking it out with someone, works really well. Just get all those thoughts out of your head. Sometimes your brain goes in a loop where there’s a thought that’s not quite finished, and you haven’t said it out loud, you haven’t written it out. You don’t want that because that doesn’t allow you for blank space to move forward.
Strategy involves planning, knowing the direction you’re in, your North Star, the path you’re actually going, and steps to get you there. Action is actually doing the damn thing. Mindset keeps you confident and positive so you can take your strategy and take action with confidence, intention and ease.
Love + magic,
Maggie
